Anti-vaxxer Jenny McCarthy furious former co-star Charlie Sheen didn't tell her about HIV: 'Ick, that’s not fair'

Jenny McCarthy, who is possibly as famous for her anti-vaccine beliefs as she is for her TV career, said she was angry that Charlie Sheen did not disclose his HIV status when she played his love interest on a sitcom.

McCarthy appeared alongside Sheen, who confirmed rumors this week that he was HIV-positive, occasionally over four years on "Two and a Half Men," and she said Wednesday that she wished the actor had told her about his diagnosis at the time, reported Page Six.

"I feel like in playing a love interest, you would think there would be some type of, I don’t want to say criminal issue, but I don’t even know how to feel about that,” McCarthy said on her SiriusXM radio show.

The 43-year-old McCarthy, who gained famed on MTV and went on to co-host "The View," said she had to sign on-set release forms on "Two and a Half Men" related to cold sores.

“I was like, ‘Wait a second, if I have to be upfront about a herpe, how could you not be upfront about HIV?’" she said. "I look back and I’m like, ‘Okay, that would have been some valuable information.’ I mean, look how many people have played his love interest on the show.”

McCarthy, who has claimed that vaccines caused her son's autism, said she was aware that HIV cannot be spread through kissing or casual contact -- and the actress said she insisted potential partners take STD tests before sex when she was single.

“I made everyone get an HIV test,” McCarthy. “I’m STD-phobic, just because of all the stuff I went through with Evan’s [her son’s] health. I said to myself, ‘There is nothing I want to do that would be dumb enough to get any type of disease. I have to live forever for my kid.’ So I wouldn’t sleep with anyone until I got the right paperwork, so even playing his love interest on the show back in the day, I go like, ‘Ick, ugh, that’s not fair and scary.'”

She offered some sympathy to her former co-star, who said he has spent more than $10 million in hush money to keep his diagnosis secret while reportedly using drugs and having sex with porn performers and prostitutes.

“I have sympathy for him because he’s sick and it’s awful, but man, he’s going to have to take some major accountability with many people in his life,” McCarthy said.
