MAGA rock star lobs veiled threat at Dems during Trump rally: 'That's the goal!'

Far-right rock star Ted Nugent conveyed a thinly disguised threat against Democrats while speaking at President Donald Trump's rally in Kansas on Monday evening.

Trump's rally was held in support of Sen. Roger Marshall, who has faced a surprisingly tight race against Democratic pastor Adam Hamilton amid a series of scandals about his record as a doctor and his campaign finance dealings.

"We could eliminate the Democrat [sic] Party," said Nugent to the crowd. "That's the goal. They're not Democrats, they're Communists! I want them out of here!"

Nugent's call to "eliminate" Democrats could be interpreted a number of ways — but many commenters on social media heard it as a violent threat.

"Funny how the people terrified of communism keep proposing things you'd expect from authoritarian regimes," wrote Alex Cole of Newsitics.

"It’s wild that Democrats are always expected to embrace unity while Republican rallies are all 'We should exorcise the Demon-crats!'" wrote podcaster and Jeopardy! champion Hemant Mehta.
