Capitol attacker arrested outside of vice presidential residence had car full of weapons to 'take care of his problem'

NBC 4 News reporter Scott MacFarlane reported Wednesday that another attacker of the U.S. Capitol was arrested, but the man appears to have been outside the residence of Vice President Kamala Harris in Washington, D.C.

The Secret Service reportedly arrested the man near the Naval Observatory, where Harris and her family will live. The vice presidential residence was under renovation, so it's unclear if Harris has moved in yet. She has been staying at Blair House, across the street from the White House.

Capitol Police had issued a region-wide search for the man ahead of Secret Service spotting him.

When police found the man's car in a D.C. garage, it was loaded with "a long gun, a large amount of ammunition and several gun clips with ammunition," said MacFarlane.

In a statement, the U.S. Secret Service confirmed they arrested someone in the area but did not indicate if it was the same man or if the arrest was in Observatory Circle.

Fox5News revealed the arrested man was Paul Murray, who came to Washington from Texas with an AR-15 while experiencing paranoid delusions that the government was after him. His mother said that Murray claimed he was in DC to "take care of his problem." While Mr. Murray may have paranoid delusions, the government was after him because of his participation in the Capitol attack.
