Clinton's doctor: Hillary has pneumonia but she's 'recovering nicely' after Sunday episode

Dr. Lisa R. Bardack, personal physician to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton released a statement Sunday afternoon in the wake of Clinton's attack of light-headedness during a morning ceremony remembering the victims of the terror attacks of Sep. 11, 2001.

CNN's Dan Merica posted a section from Bardack's statement on Twitter.

"Secretary Clinton has been experiencing a cough related to allergies," the physician wrote. "On Friday, during follow up evaluation of her prolonged cough, she was diagnosed with pneumonia. She was put on antibiotics and advised to rest and modify her schedule."

"While at this morning's event, she became overheated and dehydrated. I have just examined her and she is now re-hydrated and recovering nicely," Bardack concluded.

This morning's incident has kicked off a fever of ghoulish speculation from conservatives eager to seize on any sign that their candidate might get an edge on the former Secretary of State, even if that means cheering for her illness and death.

After leaving the ceremony and taking a few minutes to compose herself in daughter Chelsea Clinton's Manhattan apartment, the candidate emerged and waved to the gathered crowd.
