'Hell no!': Criminal defense attorney tramples on Rudy Giuliani for picking a fight with Robert Mueller

Criminal defense attorney Randy Zelin didn't mince words after hearing President Donald Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani for picking a fight with special counsel Robert Mueller.

CNN host Ryan Nobles wondered if it's typical for a defense attorney to talk about someone investigating their client.

"Hell no!" Zelin exclaimed. "I'll tell you when Mr. Rudy Giuliani was the U.S. Attorney for the southern district of New York, no one would dare speak like that about him or any of his assistants. We're living in unprecedented you don't speak with such disrespect. You don't speak with such, go ahead. This is not law and order. If you go something, charge my guy or leave him alone. In real life, okay. I see you. I raise you. We don't behave like this as a defense bar."

He noted that anyone could tell a prosecutor to "put up and shut up" but behind closed doors, those comments don't really mean anything.

"This is not how we behave because we're not acting in our client's best interest," Zelin also advised. "We may be acting in our own of getting face time and everybody [knows] our name. Clients want this done quietly, calmly, coolly. If the government calls my bluff, it's not bad for me. It's bad for my client."

"Does it have anything to do with Robert Mueller being embarrassed?" Nobels asked.

"Hell no!" Zelin exclaimed again. "When Rudy Giuliani spends a lot of time talking about Russia, this has become more than just about Russia. The special prosecutor's mandate is not necessarily about Russia. We have talked about this so many times. If the special prosecutor uncovers evidence of other crime, he doesn't put blinders on and say I can't see that. That's not the way it works."
