Powerful GOP lawmaker 'looks forward' to discussing Hunter Biden case with Trump's AG

A Republican congressman came out swinging Monday against President Joe Biden and his decision 24 hours earlier to issue a full pardon for his son Hunter Biden, even raising the idea that President-elect Donald Trump’s Justice Department could soon weigh in on the matter.

Rep. James Comer (R-KY) made the eyebrow-raising comments during an appearance on Newsmax’s “Rob Schmitt Tonight” where he launched an aggressive counter to Biden’s controversial pardon.

“I look forward to talking to Attorney General Bondi about this,” Comer told the show’s host. “We still have information that we requested that we never received. The White House to this day has obstructed rightful evidence that we should’ve obtained.”

Comer, chair of the powerful House Oversight Committee, continued to go after the Bidens for a host of issues, including conspiratorial claims involving “sex trafficking and the minors on the internet.”

"Look, this this is the Biden crime family,” Comer said. “Joe Biden has lied so many times.”

He later added that the Bidens were “the most corrupt political family in the history of the American presidency” before again calling on Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, who Trump selected to lead the Justice Department, to examine the presidential pardon.

“This is the biggest public corruption scandal ever,” Comer declared. “And I hope the Trump Justice Department will take our investigation and hold people accountable, not just the Bidens but all deep state actors that were involved in the coverup.”

Schmitt agreed with Comer throughout the interview and added at the conclusion, “This is the stuff of dictators.”

Last month Comer said that he would “absolutely” continue to investigate Hunter Biden even after Trump won the election. He also predicted the president would issue the pardon as he ultimately did.
