'Make sure they never forget': Lara Trump delivers an ominous threat to J6 panel

Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump went after Washington officials involved in the January 6 investigation in an ominous interview where she warned their investigation could land them in jail once her father-in-law returns to the White House.

The comments from President-elect Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law came Tuesday during an appearance on the right-wing Benny Johnson Show after she seized on a new report in The Federalist that claimed House Republicans exposed the January 6 Select Committee’s “lies, cover-ups, [and] scandals.”

“Everything that has happened with this January 6 nonsense – anybody that did anything illegal ought to be held accountable,” Lara Trump said. “I’m not a legal expert or a legal scholar, but I do know that when you break the law, that means you go to jail, and you serve time.”

She continued to assail the committee’s work – spurred by the House Republicans’ report – calling their investigation into the deadly day at the Capitol a “hoax” and “a stain on our country’s history." MAGA rioters stormed the building in an attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

“These people ought to be ashamed of themselves, I know they aren’t, so we’ll go ahead and shame them,” she said. “We’ll go ahead and make sure they never forget that history recalls every single day from now 'til forever what these people did and the way they personally and single-handedly tried to destroy this country.”

Lara Trump then delivered another stark warning: “This is just the beginning Benny, wait 'til Donald Trump gets in there, wait 'til Kash Patel gets in there, wait 'til Tulsi Gabbard gets in there wait until these people start shining a light in all the dark places the Democrats and the establishment never wanted us to go.”

She added: “This thing from the very beginning has been a hot bunch of garbage.”
