A tearful Jenna Ellis implicated Rudy Giuliani and disavowed Donald Trump as she pleaded guilty in the Georgia election subversion case.
The former Trump campaign lawyer delivered a statement in tears Tuesday at her Fulton County plea hearing, where she expressed regret for her work on behalf of the former president that was aimed at overturning his 2020 election loss, reported CNN.
“If I knew then what I know now, I would have declined to represent Donald Trump in these post-challenges," Ellis said. "I look back on this experience with deep remorse."

“I failed to do my due diligence," she added. “In the wake of the 2020 presidential election, I believed that challenging the results on behalf of President Trump should be pursued in a just and legal way … I endeavored to represent my client to the best of my ability."
Ellis pointed a finger at Giuliani in her plea agreement by admitting she aided and abetted the fellow Trump lawyer's "false statements" to Georgia legislators at a December 2020 hearing and acknowledged she was, “Assisting with the execution of” the hearing with Giuliani and co-defendant Ray Smith, also a former Trump campaign lawyer.
Prosecutors are recommending five years of probation and $5,000 in restitution.
