Joy Behar zaps Trump for obsessing over Matt Lauer: 'He's just like mad King George in the White House'

When the women of "The View" discussed the recent allegations against "Today Show" host Matt Lauer, they couldn't help but bring up President Donald Trump's tweets on the topic.

Trump threw stones at Lauer early Wednesday as the news broke on cable news. The co-hosts Trump to take a closer look at his own actions before criticizing someone else.

"It's all well and good to call folks out. everybody wants -- everybody wants to know that who is out there. Let us not forget, that you also, have people accusing you," co-host Whoopi Goldberg said.

Behar also wondered how NBC executives at networks knew what was happening but did nothing. "You know, he also worked at NBC," she said of Trump.

Goldberg wondered why Trump was so consumed with Lauer and other things when he should be concerned with other issues. Fellow co-host McCain made a similar point, noting North Korea just launched another missile. Goldberg confessed the issue that bothers her most is that Trump refuses to threaten Niger after three soldiers were killed there. Instead, he's tweeting about this.

"He's really a figurehead at this point. He is not dealing with real issues anymore. He's just like mad King George in the White House," Behar quipped.

McCain said that Trump's team is focusing on these things, but clearly the optics appear that the president is not.

"You know, if you hadn't started this, we might not be where we are," Goldberg said of on North Korea's Kim Jong-Un. When "you're slamming down words, 'You're this. You're that.' 'Little tiny person.' When you start with that -- see, when you have have crazy meet crazy, they do this to each other," Goldberg gestured with her hands fighting. "And they are not thinking, you know, we're running countries. They're thinking, 'Oh, I'm going to get you!'"

"We have the capacity to bankrupt North Korea -- China does," McCain said. "We were promised with President Trump's chocolate cake meeting that it would happen. That has not happened. Pass that, we're now, escalating the rhetoric. It's larger and larger."

Goldberg told Trump if he intends to start the rhetoric he should be prepared to fight. "Because you're not going to get to hide out when stuff happens," she closed.
