Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is facing a revolt from some MAHA supporters who accuse the Trump administration of abandoning its most basic promises to the movement.
That’s according to NBC News, which reported exclusively that an activist scorecard accuses the administration of breaking more than 85% of its commitments on food, agriculture and environmental health.
“We’re asking the Trump administration to deliver on even the most basic promises they’ve made to the MAHA movement,” former Kennedy campaign adviser Tiffany Cianci told NBC News on Thursday. “And we’ve seen over and over again not just a lack of interest in doing so, but a blatant slap in the face.”
The scorecard’s creators include former Kennedy campaign aides from his 2024 White House run. It slams the Trump administration for handing favors to the chemical industry through pesticide approvals and appointments of industry insiders, among other accusations, according to the report.
The frustrations could spill over into the November election.
“The actions of the administration have worked really in opposition to everything that we hoped and everything that Trump promised,” said Kelly Ryerson, the activist known as “Glyphosate Girl.” She predicted MAHA voters would likely sit out the midterms.
Cianci acknowledged to NBC News that many decisions that angered former Kennedy loyalists fall outside his authority. Still, she said his silence has harmed him among MAHA supporters.
“The difference with this administration is that we are promised something very, very different in a very real way,” Ryerson told the outlet. “So I think that burn feels especially raw.”
