Michael Moore slams GOP hypocrisy on women’s rights: You’ve been grabbing them by the p*ssy for years

In a Monday morning op-ed, Michael Moore is calling out Republican leaders who are jumping from the sinking ship that is the 2016 campaign for Donald Trump. According to Moore, the groping ways of Trump aren't new to the GOP and the hypocrisy is astounding.

"Trump may have verbalized his misogyny, sexism and abuse of women into an open microphone, but over the past decades you ― YOU ― have LEGALIZED it," Moore wrote for AlterNet.

While Trump is talking about grabbing "women by their p*ssy," it's the GOP that has been working to legislate women's bodies since the Supreme Court ruled on Roe v. Wade. Moore says that it is akin to legislators trying to legalize grabbing control over women. At the same time, they've worked to ensure women aren't paid the same as men, don't have paid family leave and can't get access to birth control.

"Trump has been called 'disgusting' for his remarks," Moore continued. "But you, by actually blocking women’s equal rights, you’ve been rewarded for your misogyny with re-election, campaign cash and future lobbying jobs. You think by disowning Trump now that we, the people, are going be grateful to you. But we know that Trump is only the natural result of a Republican culture that has viciously fought the women’s agenda for years."

Moore goes on to say that Trump has destroyed the Republican party because he is the combination of the right-wing, tea party and religious zealots that the GOP got into bed with to save their party. The source of the disease, however, is not the activists but the politicians.

"It is an assault to pay women less," Moore said. "It is an assault to block daycare for all. It is an assault ― a form of apartheid ― when only 20 percent of Congress is women, the majority gender."

But Trump's VP, Mike Pence, isn't escaping Moore's accusations either. Moore cites Pence's signature evangelical legislation that would have mandated that any women having an abortion have a funeral and bury her fetus. It is people like Pence who have been grabbing women by their genitals for years, according to Moore.

"As far as I’m concerned, there are 54 Trumps in the U.S. Senate and 237 Trumps in the House," he said, citing the elected members of Trump's party. "You can’t make this look good by removing your endorsement from Trump. Yes, Trump has to go ― but so do you, all of you."

Moore makes a call to action for people to hit the polls this election with the idea in mind:

“YOU’RE EITHER WITH WOMEN, OR YOU’RE AGAINST THEM.”

Anyone who is against should have their career ended.

"Thank you for letting the American public see your true (orange) face," Moore closes. "I’m glad you 'grabbed' our attention and mobIlized the masses against you. The only thing sweeter than seeing the lot of you gone would be a 50-state sweep for Hillary."
