Mueller is following the money to Israeli social media firm that met with Trump Jr into a Cyprus bank: report

Despite assurances by Trump surrogates like Rudy Giuliani that the Mueller probe is wrapping up, the investigation appears more sweeping than ever.

In 2017, the Guardianreported that investigators were looking into the financial history of a bank based in Cyprus. The bank, owned by two Lebanese nationals, was suspected of money laundering.

On Tuesday, Bloomberg reported that the same bank did business with PSY Group, an Israeli company whose founder reportedly met with Donald Trump Jr. ahead of the election. The company services include reaching target audiences with misleading information through web portals designed to look like news sites.

A lawyer for Donald Trump Jr. says he remembers the pitch meeting but denies making use of the company's services.

Although originating in Tel Aviv, the company is headquartered in Cyprus, where as Bloomberg notes regulations around financial transactions are laxer.

It's illegal for foreign entities to contribute anything of value to sway an American election.
