Special counsel Robert Mueller has obtained new evidence indicating that right-wing dirty trickster and longtime Trump ally Roger Stone had direct knowledge of WikiLeaks' hack of former Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta's emails before they were publicly released.
In particular, Mueller and his team have been investigating whether so-called "Birther King" Jerome Corsi acted as a conduit between WikiLeaks and Stone, who seemingly predicted the release of Podesta's emails on Twitter weeks before WikiLeaks dropped them as an "October surprise" during the 2016 presidential campaign.
Additionally, reports NBC, "Mueller's investigators have reviewed messages to members of the Trump team in which Stone and Corsi seem to take credit for the release of Democratic emails."
In the past, Stone has insisted that he had no direct contact with WikiLeaks during the 2016 campaign -- despite the fact that he bragged to an associate about having dinner with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, shortly before Assange started releasing emails that were stolen from Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
Stone subsequently went on Alex Jones’ radio show and told him that Russia was going to drop leaked emails that it had obtained from Clinton that he predicted would be devastating to her campaign.
Stone has also insisted that his only back channel to WikiLeaks was via talk show host Randy Credico -- although Credico has given Mueller evidence that could blow up those claims and prove Stone perjured himself during congressional testimony.
