Olbermann: Trump’s fixation on spy dossier is why rumors of the ‘pee pee tape won’t dry up’

Longtime broadcaster Keith Olbermann explained how the actions of President Donald Trump keep the so-called "pee pee tape" in the news.

The "golden shower" revelations were included in a 35-page dossier compiled by former MI6 spy Christopher Steele. The FBI used the contested dossier to obtain a FISA warrant against Trump advisor Carter Page.

"Donald Trump's worst enemy on the subject of Russia [is] Donald Trump," Olbermann explained.

"So why does Trump keep bringing us back to the dossier and the hmmmmmm-hmmmmm tape?" Olbermann wondered aloud.

Olbermann pointed out that Trump was once again tweeting on the dossier:

"Why, when weeks and even months go by without a real reference to the tape or even the Steele dossier, why does he virtually stand in front of us -- erase all of the other headlines -- and symbolically hold up a VHS tape and say, 'see, there's nothing on this tape, I'm not on this tape, there's nothing to this tape, this tape this tape this tape,'" Olbermann asked.

"Boy Scouts, Scaramucci hired, Scaramucci fired, paddy wagons, transgender troops, Priebus, repeal and replace, McCain, Murkowski and go Bannon yourself -- all of it in roughly one week -- filling the airwaves, consuming the internet, breaking Twitter, causing the Russia story, the dossier, the tape to all recede into the darkness," Olbermann reminded.

"And Donald Trump just pulled it back out and put up 27 more spotlights on it," Olbermann said with a laugh. "To make sure the pee-pee tape story doesn't...dry up."

Olbermann then ended the show by accentuating the first syllable in the last word of signature closing line, say, "Resist, replace, pee-ce."
