On Friday, President Donald Trump's former adviser Roger Stone posted a lengthy Instagram manifesto trashing former First Lady Barbara Bush, the late Republican matriarch who near the end of her life abandoned her party over Trump.
"Barbara Bush / too 'sick' to attend Nancy Reagan's funeral but not too sick to campaign for her smug, entitled low energy son Jeb in New Hampshire the next day," Stone wrote. "She once berated me in a drunken tirade after the campaign I managed for Ronald Reagan beat her husband in the New York and New Jersey Republican primaries and took half the delegates in Connecticut."
"She had a 'countdown clock' for @realdonaldtrump presidency?" Stone continued. "Well she's dead and he's president — who won that one?"
Stone, who currently faces federal charges for obstruction, false statements, and witness tampering in special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, has taken potshots at Bush before. Last year, Stone proclaimed that Bush "drank so much booze, if they cremated her ... her body would burn for days!" That comment got him disinvited to an annual dinner function by the Okaloosa Republican Executive Committee.
