A pregnant Florida librarian was shot and killed during a road rage encounter -- and police say she was the aggressor.
Sara Nicole Morales was fatally shot about 5 p.m. Saturday evening outside her Orange City home after she intentionally struck a motorcycle and then fled the scene, and the motorcyclist and a witness followed her home after trying to stop her at an intersection and calling police, reported WOFL-TV.
"The lady just took off and left," a witness told 911 dispatchers. "What kind of vehicle was it? It's a blue Kia."
The 35-year-old Morales went inside her home to grab a gun, and she confronted 40-year-old Andrew Derr in the roadway outside -- where the motorcyclist shot her multiple times.
Derr held a valid concealed carry license and cooperated with investigators, police said, and he has not been charged.
Morales died a short time later at a nearby hospital, and police said she was about four or five months pregnant and is survived by an 11-year-old daughter and a fiancé.
The shooting remains under investigation.
