Trump-approved 'voter fraud' conspiracy theorist goes down in flames during trainwreck CNN interview

With President Donald Trump planning to investigate mass "voter fraud" that he believes cost him the win in the popular vote, CNN decided to talk with one of the men who is trying to help Trump back up his claims.

Appearing on CNN's New Day with Chris Cuomo, VoteStand founder Gregg Phillips said that he can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Hillary Clinton received at least 3 million "illegal" votes for president in 2016 -- but only if you give him several additional months to get all his evidence together.

"You say you can prove it," Cuomo said of Phillips's voter fraud claims. "I say, 'OK, I trust you, you can prove it.' Show me."

"We believe it will take probably another few months to get this done," Phillips said of when his team will be ready to publicly offer proof that he insists is ironclad.

Cuomo would not let Phillips easily off the hook, however.

"And yet, even though you need a few more months to get this done, you think you know the answer right now," Cuomo said.

"We're volunteers!" Phillips shot back. "We know we have the answer."

"Even though you can't prove it, you think you know?" a confused Cuomo asked.

"The numbers are actually bigger!" Phillips replied, apparently implying that Hillary Clinton actually received more than 3 million illegal votes.

Cuomo again pressed Phillips for how he could claim to know for certain that Clinton received millions of illegal votes without currently having the proper evidence to back up such a conclusion.

"You can reach a conclusion, and then still verify it," Phillips responded.

Elsewhere in the segment, Cuomo questioned Phillips's purported methods for finding voter fraud were at all precise, and he responded by saying, "We are as precise as we need to be."

Despite not giving Cuomo any evidence to back up his assertions, Phillips nonetheless got a shout-out from President Trump for his purported work "uncovering" voter fraud.
