Trump-bashing Reddit user crushes 'idiot' right-wing media who accused him of being dead Jacksonville shooter

Earlier this week, a Trump-bashing Reddit user was misidentified by right-wing media figures such as Jim "Gateway Pundit" Hoft and Mike Cernovich as David Katz, the man who allegedly killed himself and two other people at a gaming tournament in Jacksonville.

However, Hoft and Cernovich's conspiracy theories about the user -- who goes by the name of "Ravenchamps" -- blew up when he continued posting on Reddit despite the fact that he was supposed to be dead.

In fact, the user even set up a joking "Ask Me Anything" session on Reddit with the title, "I'm apparently the Madden shooter, what's up."

Talking with NBC News, the man behind the "Ravenschamp" account says that he was shocked when he came home from his job earlier this week to discover that right-wing media sites were accusing him of not only being the Jacksonville shooter, but also being motivated by hatred for President Donald Trump.

Among other things, they cited his past comments on Reddit in which he referred to Trump supporters as "Trumptards," even though the user actually spent most of his time on Reddit talking about football and video games.

"My takeaway on this is there are a lot of idiots on the internet who come to conclusions over no factual evidence," the user told NBC News.
