President Donald Trump urged Attorney General Jeff Sessions to politicize the Department of Justice and prosecute his enemies and critics in an early morning tweet.
The president and his personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, have called on Sessions to reopen the investigation into Hillary Clinton's email habits as Secretary of State -- and Trump twisted the attorney general's pushback to suit his own wishes.
“Department of Justice will not be improperly influenced by political considerations,” Trump tweeted, quoting Sessions' remarks from the previous day.
Sessions had pushed back against Trump's attacks in a Fox News interview, where the president questioned his manhood for refusing to target the administration's critics.
"Jeff, this is GREAT, what everyone wants," the president tweeted, "so look into all of the corruption on the 'other side' including deleted Emails, Comey lies & leaks, Mueller conflicts, McCabe, Strzok, Page, Ohr, FISA abuse, Christopher Steele & his phony and corrupt Dossier, the Clinton Foundation, illegal surveillance of Trump Campaign, Russian collusion by Dems - and so much more."
"Open up the papers & documents without redaction?" Trump added. "Come on Jeff, you can do it, the country is waiting!"
