'Bizarre and psychopathic': Trump targets E. Jean Carroll in Truth Social posting spree
January 04, 2024
Donald Trump, just hours after his name appeared in newly unsealed court documents linked to accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, attacked E. Jean Carroll Thursday morning in 31 Truth Social posts shared in just 26 minutes.
Trump didn't write a word, but shared opinion pieces from multiple conservative sites attacking the woman who accused him of raping her and then defaming her.
His posts included comments that she's “creepy,” media interview clips targeting her without context, and several social media posts that appear to have been written by Carroll herself.
“There is no such thing as a slut,” Carroll writes in one. “Only sexual geniuses.”
Despite the disparate nature of the content — Barbara Stanwyck, Hunter S. Thompson, Anderson Cooper and the movie “Mission Impossible” all make appearances — the running theme is sex.
Carroll tells Cooper in a CNN interview her thoughts about Trump’s sexual attack in a Manhattan department store (which he denies but for which he has been found liable). A Vanity Fair interviewer asks Carroll about a relationship with former Fox CEO Roger Ailes. Carroll shares bawdy jokes and sex tips on social media.
“A chap is not a mind reader,” Carroll tells her followers. “Show him what you like.”
Trump’s torrent of posts stunned many, who shared their thoughts on X.
"Misogynistic pig Trump goes on absolutely bizarre and psychopathic posting spree for 20 minutes about E. Jean Carroll,” wrote NBC executive Mike Sington.
“It looks like he’s trying to say because she has posted and talked about sex in the past, it’s okay that he raped her.”

“Don't look away: This morning alone, Donald Trump has attacked E. Jean Carroll *31 times* already,” added political podcaster Victor Shi. “Trump's attacks on her only prove how unhinged & unqualified for the presidency Trump is.”
X user @barb494 replied by quoting Trump’s own words in the notorious Access Hollywood tape in which he tells Billy Bush about the perks of power.
“I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. When you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab ’em by the p----. You can do anything.”
Trump was found liable of sexually abusing Carroll and then defaming her last year, and was ordered to pay $5 million. A second trial regarding another defamation is set to start this month.
He has already been found liable in the upcoming case, and the trial is largely to decide on damages.
