Donald Trump is "directly" responsible for a massive "massacre" in which many civilians lost their lives, according to a former Trump insider.
Trump has spoken at length about wanting peace between Ukraine in Russia, but his recent choices resulted in a bloody incursion in Ukraine, according to author and former Trump associate Lev Parnas Saturday.
Parnas, a Ukrainian-born former associate of Rudy Giuliani who recently wrote about how Trump's team was "humiliated" by a foreign leader, flagged a "massive assault on Kyiv" and called it "fallout" from Trump's recent actions.

"Last night, the skies over Kyiv lit up with fire. Missiles. Drones. Death. In one of the most intense aerial assaults since the war began, Russia launched 14 Iskander-M ballistic missiles and approximately 250 Shahed drones targeting Kyiv and other regions. Ukrainian air defenses managed to intercept six missiles and neutralize 245 drones—128 were shot down, and 117 were thwarted using electronic warfare. Residential blocks were hit. Civilians trapped. Emergency crews are still pulling bodies from the rubble," he wrote. "This wasn’t random. This wasn’t just another strike. This was a message."
Parnas went on to explain that, in his view, Trump was the cause of the violence.
"And I want to be very clear: this massacre didn’t come out of nowhere. This is the direct result of Donald Trump’s two-and-a-half-hour phone call with Vladimir Putin just days ago. He opened the door—and Putin stormed through it," the ex-insider said. "While Trump smiles and talks about 'respect' and 'getting along,' Ukraine is bleeding. My sources tell me that this escalation was part of the plan. The pleasantries in public? Smoke and mirrors. Behind closed doors, Trump gave Putin what he wanted: silence, a green light, and the promise to walk away. And that’s exactly what we’re seeing unfold."
According to Parnas, "Trump ignores his own intelligence agencies, shuns State Department briefings, and instead takes advice from a handful of corrupt propagandists feeding him Kremlin narratives that paint Russia as a powerhouse and Ukraine as a nuisance."
"The truth? Russia is losing. Their economy is gutted. Their military is a shadow of what it once was. But that doesn’t matter to Trump," he added. "The optics do."
