An MS NOW host refused to let a Republican lawmaker off the hook Wednesday over questions on President Donald Trump's pardon of an international drug kingpin.
MS NOW host Mika Brzezinski pressed Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) on his thoughts about Trump's pardon of former Honduran president Juan Orlando Hernández.
At the end of the live interview segment, MS NOW host Jonathan Lemire asked Marshall about the administration's attacks on alleged drug boats off the coast of Venezuela and the pardon of Hernández, who ran a large-scale drug trafficking operation that reportedly brought narcotics to the U.S.
Marshall pleaded ignorance and tried to smile his way through his response.
"I don't know the details of that particular pardon. Happy to look into it, but I just can't really speak to it," Marshall said.
But Brzezinski was not having it.
"All right. So like, no thought on the fact that he was pardoned?" Brzezinski responded.
"Well, again, I think it's unfair to, without me researching the details of that pardon, to to give you any type of an answer. You know, I'm a doctor. If you ask me a question, I don't have a good answer or a factual answer, I'm going to say, I don't know. I'm happy to go research it. I'm really locked in on health care right now, trying to bring down the cost of health care for Americans to make and make our lives more affordable," Marshall said.
