Rudy Giuliani’s star voter fraud witness in Michigan may not have even voted

Mellissa Carone, Rudy Giuliani's star witness in the Michigan state Senate voter fraud hearing, may not have participated in the electoral process herself.

According to Michigan's Gongwer News Service, Carone didn't even vote in 2016 or 2020. Addressing the hearing, Carone said that she worked for Dominion Voting Systems. Dominion filed a cease and desist to demand she stop lying about her account.

"Without a shred of corroborating evidence, you have claimed that you witnessed several different versions of voter fraud — ranging from one story involving a van, to other accusations that votes were counted multiple times," the letter said. "You published these statements even though you knew all along that your attacks on Dominion have no basis in reality.

"We write to you now because you have positioned yourself as a prominent leader of the ongoing misinformation campaign by pretending to have some sort of 'insider's knowledge' regarding Dominion's business activities, when in reality you were hired through a staffing agency for one day to clean glass on machines and complete other menial tasks," the letter continued.

Carone repeatedly interrupted Republican Rep. Steven Johnson—who tried to ask legitimate questions of Carone, who kept saying he looked like a penis. Carone even alleged that Johnson must be guilty of some unspecified impropriety if he was asking for proof of her employment.

"A cross-reference of the documents — which include Ms. Carone's voting history — with Department of State data shows that Ms. Carone was initially registered to vote in Allen Park in 2019. The following year, she was registered in Dearborn Heights, and as of September of this year, she lists being registered in St. Clair Shores," said the report.

Carone has been ridiculed online but even "Saturday Night Live" parodied her, which she told "Inside Edition" was a huge compliment.

In February, Carone decided to file paperwork to run for office herself, but the information now appears to show that she hasn't much cared for politics enough to vote in the past.

"I am running on election integrity," Carone told The Detroit News in an interview.

Carone's accusations first aired on Fox when she spoke to Lou Dobbs on November 11 where she claimed she witnessed voter fraud during tabulation of the election. She alluded to vans providing food to poll workers. Those food trucks then smuggled ballots that it was somehow used to change the results of the Michigan election. It wasn't until Dec. 5, 2020 that Carone testified before the committee where she repeated the claims.
