'We have to confront this': CNN's Acosta says press must fight Trump or risk being silenced

CNN investigative reporter Jim Acosta has made no secret of his unhappiness with President Donald Trump's administration and its attempts to delegitimize and undermine the media.

On Sunday, he blasted Trump's tweet showing a figure labeled "CNN" getting violently attacked and beaten to the ground, telling anchor Fredricka Whitfield by phone, "This kind of behavior is going to lead to a journalist getting hurt."

“We have to stand up to this. We have to confront this and say that it’s wrong,” Acosta said. “My concern is, and I know it’s shared by others, is that this kind of rhetoric, this kind of behavior is going to lead to a journalist being hurt. That’s the thing I worry about.”
