Weepy neo-Nazi Chris Cantwell turns himself in to police in Lynchburg, VA: report

The weepy neo-Nazi featured prominent in a Vice documentary about the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, has turned himself in to police in Lynchburg, Virginia, the Daily Progress reports.

Chris Cantwell, who went into hiding last week after discovering he may have a warrant out for his arrest, is currently being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail, the Progress reports. Last Wednesday, Cantwell uploaded a video of himself choking back tears as he described the fear he felt upon discovering a warrant has been issued for his arrest. In fact, The Virginia Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office of Albemarle County issued four felony warrants for Cantwell related to the “illegal use of gases, and injury by caustic agent or explosive.”

Cantwell said he believed the warrants stemmed from a photo of him pepper-spraying a counter protestor during the Charlottesville rally.

Cantwell, who in addition to being arrested, is also no longer welcome on the dating website OK Cupid, insisted pepper-spraying the counter-protestor was the “least damaging” thing he could do.

“I don’t think I did anything wrong, and I’m looking forward to my day in court,” Cantwell said last Friday.
