‘That was weird’: MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace laughs off Trump defense as Rudy after a ‘cocktail lunch’

MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace mocked the bizarre statements Rudy Giuliani gave to NBC News and Politico following special counsel Robert Mueller's sentencing memo for Michael Flynn.

Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City, is working as a defense attorney for President Donald Trump, whose name was mentioned repeatedly in the memos released Tuesday evening.

Wallace recounted Giuliani's defenses, one of which included garbled text and the other featured the Yiddish word "Bupkis."

"Maybe this will convince all Americans there was no collusion," Wallace sarcastically joked.

"What is that?" Wallace asked. "What was that? What was that?"

"Wishful thinking?" Washington Post senior political reporter Aaron Blake offered.

"Like Rudy from lunch -- cocktail lunch?" she wondered.

"That was weird," Wallace added.
