Ex-Trump lawyer claims religious freedom only applies to Christians

A former attorney for President Donald Trump claimed during her radio show last week that religious freedom only applies to Christians in America, according to a new report.

Jenna Ellis, who defended Trump during his attempts to overturn the 2020 general election, claimed on her show, "Jenna Ellis In The Morning," that America's freedom of religion protections are intended to allow Christians to "evangelize" their faith, Right Wing Watch reported. She also called on Christians to be "more authoritative" in the public square.

Study finds Trump's signature policy has been an utter failure for his base voters

President Donald Trump has long framed his nationwide purge of immigrants as a policy to protect working Americans, who in his formulation have spent decades seeing their jobs go instead to foreigners and noncitizens while their communities struggle.

But a newly revealed working paper for the National Bureau of Economic Research, authored by Elizabeth Cox and Chloe N. East and flagged by New York Times economics reporter Lydia DePillis, suggests that not only has the mass deportation of immigrants not improved job prospects for American-born workers, it might actually be making them worse off.

MS NOW political commentator Ashley Pratte Oates warned massive Republican losses in November's midterm elections could create a "dangerous and volatile situation" as President Donald Trump consolidates executive power to compensate for lost congressional majorities.

Republicans enter the midterms with Trump's approval rating at 37 percent, among the lowest for an incumbent in recent elections, while Democrats have built momentum through victories in state races and special congressional elections.

Trump's own DOJ may be forced to air salacious claims against him at trial: analyst

The alleged gunman charged in the storming of the White House Correspondents' Dinner last week may have just put President Donald Trump's Justice Department in an awkward position, according to a new legal analysis in MS NOW.

If the Cole Allen assassination case goes to trial, prosecutors working for Trump's DOJ may find themselves in the uncomfortable position of reading accusations that the president is a "pedophile, rapist, and traitor" out loud to a jury to prove Allen intended to kill him, legal analyst Jordan Rubin laid out this week

GOP-backed bill accidentally forces states to legalize horse meat: analyst

The Republican-backed farm bill, passed by the House on Thursday after a tumultuous series of setbacks, attracted heavy controversy for the inclusion of a pork-industry lobbyist wish list item.

Known as the "Save Our Bacon Act," the provision seeks to override state-level bans on the sale of pork from pigs raised in "gestation crates," a controversial practice many animal welfare advocates argue is a form of animal abuse.

New Orleans must immediately plan evacuation after terrifying finding: experts

A study published Monday warns that New Orleans must immediately begin planning and gradually implementing its permanent evacuation to avert a dangerously rushed exodus later, because it has passed a “point of no return” as climate-driven sea-level rise slowly swallows the storied city.

“With global temperatures poised to exceed the 1.5°C Paris Agreement threshold—a level that triggered substantial ice sheet collapse during the Last Interglacial—low-elevation coastal zones face sea-level commitments far beyond current planning horizons,” says the study, which was published by the journal Nature Sustainability.

Trump sours on major legislation after endorsing it — and throws it into chaos

President Donald Trump threw a bipartisan bill on housing affordability into turmoil in recent weeks — backing off after issuing an endorsement, and expressing concerns with a major provision of the bill that helped unify lawmakers in favor of it.

According to Politico, "Trump was on the verge of putting out a social media post taking issue with the major housing affordability package the Senate approved this year, according to two people with knowledge of the matter who were granted anonymity to discuss private conversations. The president doesn’t support language in the bill that would require large institutional investors to sell single-family homes that are built as long-term rentals after seven years, the people said."
