CBS News head Bari Weiss has been reportedly seeking a sympathetic interview to rehabilitate her public image.

Weiss has been in talks with New York Times podcast host Michael Barbaro about appearing on "The Daily," leveraging their relationship for what amounts to a high-stakes PR intervention, according to media watchdog Status.

However, Paramount executives have reportedly advised against the interview, concerned media scrutiny could complicate David Ellison's pending $111 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery.

Behind the scenes, Weiss has conducted an ongoing charm offensive through off-the-record calls and private meetings with journalists.

Analyst Oliver Darcy noted, "Weiss has no compelling story to sell."

Under her leadership, CBS News ratings plummeted to historic lows. She faces accusations of ethical violations from respected journalists, and her "60 Minutes" purge triggered mass resignations.

Darcy warned, a Weiss interview would likely provide ammunition for critics rather than rehabilitate her reputation.
