Ron Johnson admits 'one hour' involvement in election plot after claiming it was just 'seconds'

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) reportedly admitted that his involvement in a plot to overthrow the 2020 election spanned one hour after previously claiming it only lasted a "couple of seconds."

Following the election, Johnson said that he was asked to give an alternate slate of electors to then-Vice President Mike Pence in an effort to give the presidency to then-President Donald Trump.

Legal expert pours cold water on Trump's 'shockingly baseless' new lawsuit

In a string of tweets on Monday, former U.S. Attorney Kenneth White demolished a lawsuit Donald Trump's attorneys filed against CNN for defamation, calling the legal action "contemptible garbage" and saying the former president's lawyers should be marked "with a permanent brand of contempt."

Trump announced his suit on his Truth Social platform, writing, "A lawsuit was filed today against CNN, the once prestigious news channel that has devolved into a purveyor of disinformation, defamation, and Fake News, at a level which the American Public, and indeed the World, will not even believe is possible. For years I have watched this take place, often in disbelief, but the time has finally come to hold CNN responsible and legally accountable for their willful deception and defamatory statements made about me…"

Former Fox News anchor Ed Henry lost a motion to dismiss allegations he violated New York's so-called “revenge porn” law responding to allegations he sexually assaulted a colleague.

"U.S. District Judge Ronnie Abrams also ruled that ex-Fox associate producer Jennifer Eckhart's accusation of sex trafficking against Henry could continue, though the judge did toss out several counts of retaliation against Henry for filing salacious and 'intimate' photos of Eckhart on the public docket," The Daily Beast reported Friday. "Henry was later accused of 'slut-shaming' Eckhart when his legal team added 15 explicit photos to a court filing that sought to dismiss the ex-Fox employee’s lawsuit, prompting Eckhart to file the 'revenge porn' count and additional retaliation charges.
