Trump: Workers who don't respond to Musk's email request 'don't even exist'
President Donald Trump suggested he would assume that government workers who do not respond to Elon Musk's demand for job justifications by email "don't even exist."
During a press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday, Trump was asked about Musk's demand for emails from workers detailing their work weeks. Several agencies have directed employees not to respond.
"I thought it was great because we have people that don't show up to work, and nobody even knows if they work for the government," Trump explained. "And then if you don't answer like you're sort of semi-fired or you're fired. Because a lot of people are not answering because they don't even exist."
Trump also revealed that he and Musk were "going to Fort Knox to see if the gold is there because maybe somebody stole the gold."

"I think it was actually there was a lot of genius in [Musk] sending [the email]," he continued. "If people don't respond, it's very possible that there is no such person or they're not working."
