An 11-year-old football player who was fighting with two other players during practice went to get a gun from his mother's car and started shooting, the Miami Herald reported.
The boy fired one shot, which ended up striking two 13-year-olds -- one in the arm and the other in the torso as the two were running away. Both teens are expected to recover.
The boy was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder, according to police. The mother will also likely be charged.

“As a society, we need to reflect on this. We see this way too often in our society now,” police Chief Mike McKinley said in a news conference. “It’s a shame. No one wants to arrest an 11-year-old by any means."
