Trump's USPS takeover opens up 'Pandora’s box of mischief': Voting rights advocates

Recent reports have indicated President Donald Trump intends to dissolve the board of governors for the U.S. Postal Service, strip the organization of its independence, and place it under direct control of the Department of the Treasury, with a possible eye toward privatizing the service — a move that could be against the law and that has Postal Service officials gearing up for a battle.

But there's another potential devastating consequence of Trump's planned move to dismantle and privatize the mail, wrote Jacob Knutson for the voting-rights group Democracy Docket: mail-in voting could be disrupted.

“I don't trust Elon Musk, and I don't trust DOGE,” Sen. Republican touts Medicaid work requirements — by citing states where they didn't work

As Republicans debate a way to cut spending to implement President Donald Trump’s tax cuts, they are considering adding work requirements to Medicaid. To support the idea, one GOP lawmaker cited two examples: However, those were instances in which Medicaid work requirements went wrong.

“There are already tens of millions of Americans who are subject to work requirements. This is not a new concept,” Rep. Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.) told NOTUS in a piece published Monday. “[Work requirements] are fantastically effective in helping people… The evidence suggests that overwhelmingly, the impact, on average, is positive.”

France's Prime Minister François Bayrou is unimpressed with President Donald Trump's angry dressing down of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky last week, The Associated Press reported Monday.

“On Friday night, in the Oval Office of the White House, a staggering scene unfurled before the lenses of the entire world, marked by brutality, a desire to humiliate, with the goal of making Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky fold through threats, so that he gives in to the demands of his aggressors,” said Bayrou during a parliamentary debate. “All this was summed up in one phrase before the planet’s cameras: ‘Either you find a deal with Putin or we will abandon you.’”

'This is a news network?' Ex-Trump adviser buried after blaming plummeting stocks on Biden

Following President Donald Trump's announcement that tariffs against Mexico and Canada would take effect this week, the Dow Jones dropped around 650 points as investors frantically sold off in anticipation of economic disaster. But to hear it from former Trump adviser Larry Kudlow on Fox Business, it's really all former President Joe Biden's fault the economy is showing signs of collapse.

"What's left of the Biden economy is slumping right now," Kudlow told White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who replied, "Truly, this administration is working around the clock to bring down the cost of living for the American people."

A top Republican on the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs put U.S. military veterans on notice that their benefits and care may not be safe as President Donald Trump continues to steamroll massive funding cuts throughout the federal government.

The acknowledgment came Monday as Rep. Greg Murphy (R-NC) refused to rule out on CNN’s “News Central” if Trump and his new Department of Government Efficiency could come after funding for veterans. Murphy was asked point-blank if some of the “pain” he said comes with restructuring a federal agency would affect veterans.
