'Kiss of death': Professor says Trump is giving Democrats a big blessing for midterms

An endorsement from Donald Trump could be a "kiss of death" for Republican candidates in the midterms next year.

Stanford professor David Brady believes the seal of approval from the president could make no difference or even impede candidates from securing their seat at the elections. Speaking to The Mirror US, Brady said, " think it'll have just about as much effect as it did in 2018, which is none. They lost 30 seats. But in 2018, when they lost 30 seats, they lost 30 seats."

Trump and Bondi in 'a much more vulnerable political position' after Epstein gamble: CNN

The attempt by Donald Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi to quash the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, and their failure to do so, has demonstrated a vulnerability that could make them both lame ducks, according an CNN analysis by Steven Collinson.

Hours after both chambers of Congress passed a bill that will put in motion the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files within 30 days, if Trump doesn’t veto it, Collinson wrote that Trump is “reeling from a spectacular defeat, easily his worst from his own party on Capitol Hill during two turbulent presidencies,“ and that the Epstein “saga blew up in his face.”

'He fell in line': GOP lawmakers seen as taking control over Trump for the first time

The flip-flopping from Donald Trump on the issue of releasing Jeffrey Epstein's files had him "fall in line" with the GOP.

The president ultimately supported the move to force the Department of Justice to release non-classified files related to Epstein following pressure from members of the Republican party and the Democrats. Trump's decision to support the bill, rather than oppose it and the many GOP representatives calling for its release, was a "long time coming," according to CNN's Zachary B. Wolf.

WASHINGTON — Even after winning key battles in the ongoing Epstein files saga Tuesday, Democrats still fear President Donald Trump’s planning to quietly kill the bipartisan effort.

MAGA prosecutor accused of covering up 'over 100 pages' of evidence on big fraud case

Lawyers representing New York Attorney General Letitia James have accused President Donald Trump's controversial Eastern District of Virginia prosecutor of covering up large amounts of evidence that needs to be turned over in discovery, Talking Points Memo reported on Wednesday.

Lindsey Halligan, who was appointed as a federal prosecutor after her predecessor balked at filing charges against Trump's political critics, has brought a case of bank fraud against James, based on a thin accusation from Trump's housing finance director that she claimed multiple properties as primary residences on mortgage statements. James has denied any wrongdoing, some outside legal experts have said that public evidence contradicts the allegations, and even a memo by prosecutors cast doubt on the case.

Trump impeachment witness teases 'shocking' call to Saudi prince: 'Deeply disturbing'

President Donald Trump shocked and disgusted many by purportedly suggesting Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi deserved to be brutally murdered by Saudi agents, but Rep. Eugene Vindman (D-VA) claimed what he said to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in a private phone call was even more "deeply disturbing and frankly shocking."

The Virginia Democrat called on the president to release the transcript of a 2019 phone call with the Saudi crown prince following the dissident journalist's grisly assassination, and Vindman tried to reveal as much as he could on "CNN News Central" about the call that he was privy to while serving on Trump's national security council during his first term.

'GOP will lose': MAGA Trump confidante accuses her own party of being cozy with Nazis

Far-right influencer and Donald Trump confidante Laura Loomer is turning up the heat on her own party as she continues to sound the alarm about "Nazi" figures in the GOP ranks.

The GOP could be set for a "crash into reality" as representatives struggle to bring legislative change into focus.

There are "deep divisions" within the Republican party, according to Politico, which has suggested the GOP will struggle to make good on any legislative wins in the next few months. The congressional GOP could be part of the problem there as Republicans remain split on health care costs and cost-of-living issues.

'Only thing that can separate MAGA from its leader' now poses threat to Pam Bondi: analyst

CNN's Scott Jennings tried to downplay the significance of the overwhelming passage of a measure calling for the release of Jeffrey Epstein's files, but his Democratic counterpart Bakari Sellers argued the vote had exposed President Donald Trump's kryptonite.

The House passed the procedural measure 427-1 and the Senate quickly passed it on to the president's desk through unanimous consent after Trump finally gave up his opposition to releasing the investigative files on his deceased sex offender friend, but the conservative Jennings argued on "CNN News Central" it was simply a political matter.
