'It's a certainty': FBI attorney warns pardoned J6ers will go after agents next

When President Donald Trump issued a mass clemency of Jan. 6 insurrectionists — including violent criminals who beat police officers and the leaders of far-right paramilitary groups convicted of seditious conspiracy — he put the lives of FBI agents who helped investigate those cases in serious danger, attorney Chris Mattei told CNN's Jake Tapper on Wednesday.

Mattei represents nine FBI agents who sued to try to block the Trump administration from gathering information on the agents who worked on investigations of the president, or of the Jan. 6 cases.

‘Demagoguery’: Comer and Republicans melt down as Dem tries to subpoena Musk

During Wednesday’s heated House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform hearing, Chairman Jim Comer and his Republican colleagues blocked a vote on Democratic Ranking Member Gerry Connolly’s motion to subpoena Elon Musk. The Director of President Donald Trump’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency has been accused of systematically dismantling federal agencies one by one, while his associates have allegedly gained access to the private data of potentially millions of Americans, as well as vast amounts of federal government information—including, reportedly, some classified material.

In Wednesday’s hearing on “Rightsizing Government,” Ranking Member Connolly was quickly blocked when he attempted to subpoena the person in charge of all those efforts testify before them.

Swing state lawmaker warns Trump's newest 'power trip' is 'just the beginning'

Rep. Susie Lee (D-NV) tore into President Donald Trump on Wednesday, accusing him of unlawfully interfering with federal green energy investments in her long-contested swing state.

Trump caused widespread chaos throughout the federal government and among federally-backed nonprofits when his Office of Management and Budget issued a directive suspending the release of federal funds for programs across the board. Federal courts swiftly ordered the payments to resume — but according to KTNV, the funds have still not been released for Solar for All, a $7 billion Environmental Protection Agency program that was set to provide $156 million in funding in Nevada alone, for solar panel installations at some 20,000 households in the state.

'Too big for his breeches': Elon Musk reportedly divides Trump's circle

President Donald Trump's circle is reportedly becoming worried — even arguing amongst themselves — over whether tech billionaire Elon Musk and his so-called Department of Government Efficiency task force have amassed too much power.

Musk's DOGE entity has taken over massive portions of the federal government's technology stack, with a handful of young, allied software engineers seizing control of the Treasury Department's payment system, and even the systems that manage Medicare and Medicaid. This comes as the federal government gears up for massive firings and pseudo-buyout schemes that resemble those Musk enacted when he took over the Twitter platform, since rebranded X.

Senate Dems hatch plan for all-nighter to oppose a Project 2025 architect

Senate Democrats are planning a full night of speeches in opposition to Russell Vought's nomination to head up the Office of Management and Budget.

Vought, who was instrumental in creating the right-wing to-do list "Project 2025," is expected to be confirmed in a vote Thursday evening. Democrats hope to stall the confirmation, however, by planning a marathon of speeches explaining why Vought is "dangerously unfit" for the job.
