Fear as 'all-but-hopeless' governor candidate threatens GOP wipeout in key state: report

The Republican Governor's Association has a tough choice to make in Virginia, where a strikingly weak gubernatorial candidate threatens the entire state's GOP ticket.

Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears is the GOP standard-bearer in Virginia, one of only two states holding a gubernatorial election this year, and Republicans feel like they have a better chance to win in New Jersey with Jack Ciattarelli, who lost a competitive race four years ago, reported Politico.

JD Vance morphs into terrifying new role after booted from Trump's inner circle: columnist

Vice President JD Vance has been left out of the "room where it happens," ceding his vice presidential role to posts usually considered more junior and acting as Donald Trump's social media cheerleader, a New York Times columnist wrote Wednesday.

Locked out of real power while Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller runs deportations and Director of the Office of Management and Budget Russell Vought terrorizes federal workers, Vance has become Trump's "official fanboy," spending his time crafting sophisticated arguments for the administration's cruelty, wrote Jamelle Bouie.

'Flailing' Trump pounced on as MSNBC panel sees desperation taking him 'beyond the pale'

Reacting to a rambling press conference on Tuesday by Donald Trump, the panel on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" buried the president for going to extremes to avoid additional scrutiny over his relationship with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

After days of criticism of his Department of Justice taking heat for trying to bury the so-called Epstein files, the president is now being accused of falling back on attacks on President Barack Obama with claims the former president committed treason.

With co-host Willie Geist pointing out that the accusations being made by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard — which Trump has glommed onto — having already been disproved by then-Senate Intel Chair Marco Rubio, the host observed Trump is obviously desperate.

"It's widely concluded and signed by Marco Rubio, who, let's remember, is the secretary of state under President Trump, he also has three other interim jobs, his was a bipartisan conclusion and what was happening here,' he explained. "It must be said this is, you know, President Trump trying to distract."

"We have seen for four days an effort, a flailing effort to try to turn the conversation away from the Jeffrey Epstein matter and this is what he settled on: it's 2016 all over again," he added.

Contributor Mike Barnicle added, "What we just saw a clip of is the sitting president of the United States of America talking about one of his predecessors, Barack Obama, and using the word treason. Yeah, that is so far beyond the pale."

Jimmy Kimmel slams Trump with zinger after president declares comedian 'next to go'

Late night comedy star Jimmy Kimmel fired back at Donald Trump Tuesday, hitting him with a zinger just horus after the president announced that funnyman and outspoken critic would be the latest to be fired.

"The word is, and it's a strong word at that, Jimmy Kimmel is NEXT to go in the untalented Late Night Sweepstakes and, shortly thereafter, Fallon will be gone," Trump declared in a Truth Social post, just days after CBS spurred uproar by announcing Stephen Colbert's show had been canceled — after he hit out at a $60 million legal settlement CBS had made with him.

'Poetic justice': Analyst reveals the true winner of Trump's attack on Wall Street Journal

There's a bit of irony packed into the president's fight with the Wall Street Journal, according to one analyst.

'Zero-D chess': Finance exec warns Trump's new trade deal just shafted American cars

President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday the agreement of a new 15 percent reciprocal tariffs trade deal with Japan, which was roundly mocked by observers for being worse than the deal the U.S. had with Japan before Trump took office. But this deal does something else he may not have intended, hedge fund manager Spencer Hakimian posted to X: privilege Japanese cars over American ones.

It's a massive reversal from Trump's repeated commitments to adopt "America first" trade policies and encourage domestic production of goods, services, and resources — and it all comes down to simple math.

'People lie — documents don't!' Ex-ethics czar puts Trump on notice

The Trump administration should stop skirting around releasing all the files on the Jeffrey Epstein criminal case, former White House ethics czar Norm Eisen told the panel at MSNBC's "The Weeknight" Tuesday.

This comes as the Justice Department tries to quell the rising anger from President Donald Trump's base by announcing a plan to interview Epstein's convicted sex trafficking accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, who helped groom the young girls Epstein forced into his "parties" — but that won't do anything, Eisen argued.

U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) is joining a wave of Republican voices reviving criticism of the FBI’s Clinton email investigation—calling it “rigged” and saying it will be “fun” to watch Democrats “lawyer up”—as media scrutiny intensifies around Donald Trump’s ties to the late, notorious sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein and his refusal to release the files.

Fox News on Monday reported that the FBI, under then-Director James Comey, “botched” the Clinton emails investigation in 2016, citing a press release from U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA).
