Pennsylvania district attorney drops case against Elon Musk's MAGA voter lottery

District Attorney Larry Krasner of Philadelphia has announced that he is officially dropping the case against Donald Trump appointee Elon Musk and his super PAC, America PAC.

The New York Times reported the filing but Puck News' Teddy Schleifer posted a screen capture of it on X, showing that the district attorney asked that the case be "Discontinued and Ended as to all parties without prejudice, with all parties bearing their own costs."

Donald Trump's attorneys have opened an investigation into longtime Trump aide and GOP legal strategist Boris Epshteyn over allegations he personally profited by selling access to Trump's inner circle, CNN reported on Monday.

The investigation "has probed multiple instances of Epshteyn allegedly requesting payment in exchange for promoting candidates for administration positions or offering to connect individuals with people in the upcoming administration relevant to their industries," according to half a dozen sources speaking to CNN.

“It’s uncommon for a politician to have three or four separate PACs, though they can be used for different purposes,” political scientist and campaign finance expert Sarah Bryner told Mother Jones. “The most common number is one. Generally the more you have is because of obfuscation. It confuses people.”

Special counsel Jack Smith has filed a motion to drop charges against President-elect Donald Trump related to his attempts to illegally remain in power after losing the 2020 election.
