Critics couldn't help but mock disgraced former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) on Friday over his eyebrow-raising new partnership with a pharmacy, in which he hawks an antiparasitic drug popularized by right-wing influencers during the pandemic to "Make America Healthy Again."

Gaetz, a one-time nominee to become Donald Trump's attorney general, resigned from Congress in November, days ahead of a House Ethics Committee vote on whether to release a damning report into his alleged misconduct.

'Fox in the hen house': Journalist sounds the alarm on Trump’s 'under-the-radar' IRS pick

President-elect Donald Trump’s selection to lead the Internal Revenue Service is the cabinet pick that is so far flying undetected as he coasts toward his looming confirmation battle, according to longtime political observer Eleanor Clift, who blasted the nominee as inexperienced and a danger to the department.

But, as Clift wrote Friday for the Daily Beast, former Rep. Billy Long (R-MO) – a former auctioneer and ardent poker player – is “ready to target enemies and ruin the IRS.”

Here’s why the cost of extending Trump’s tax cuts just surged by nearly $1 trillion

If Congress doesn't act quickly to end the provisions in President-elect Donald Trump's 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, it could blow an even bigger hole in the federal budget.

That's according to Politico, which reported that the U.S. Treasury Department just pegged its estimate for the total 10-year cost of extending the tax cuts (which overwhelmingly benefit the richest Americans) at $5.5 trillion. That's a significantly higher number than the $4.6 trillion estimate from the Congressional Budget Office.

Supreme Court agrees to hear case that puts key Obamacare provisions at risk

The Supreme Court is taking up another case that could weaken key provisions of the Affordable Care Act, CNN reported on Friday.

The high court has already heard three major cases that could have effectively destroyed major provisions of the ACA, popularly referred to as Obamacare: one that challenged the authority of Congress to tax nonpurchase of health insurance and compel states to expand Medicaid; one that tried to defund health insurance subsidies from any health care marketplace not managed directly by states; and one that sought to invalidate out the entirety of the ACA in response to the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act eliminating the individual mandate. The law has largely survived these challenges, albeit with some alterations.
