Federal agents searched Rep. Ilhan Omar’s Washington, D.C., home early Monday as part of a criminal investigation, according to The Associated Press and Fox News Digital, both citing sources familiar with the matter.
The Justice Department said Homeland Security Investigations agents “executed a judicially authorized search warrant” in the Washington area as part of “an ongoing federal criminal investigation,” but did not name Omar or provide other details.
AP said the focus of the probe was not immediately clear, while two sources told Fox it centers on immigration paperwork the Somali-born Minnesota Democrat’s late father filled out when she was a child.
Vice President JD Vance said in May the administration would investigate immigration fraud allegations against Omar, which she has called “disgusting lies,” and her office did not immediately respond to requests for comment from either outlet.
This is a developing story.
