Viewers gawk as GOP leader unceremoniously debuts new look on live TV: 'What is going on?'

Rep. James Comer (R-KY) showed up on Fox News on Sunday to talk about the midterms, but it was his new look, not his talking points, that had viewers talking.

Comer, the chair of the powerful House Oversight Committee and likely 2027 gubernatorial candidate, appeared with Fox News’ Larry Kudlow to discuss the Senate race in Alaska, but his hair, as flagged by countless onlookers, appeared to have changed color from gray to brown.

“I regret to inform you that Comer is a brunette now,” quipped independent journalist Aaron Rupar.

Hemant Mehta, a podcast host, writer and reality television star, reacted to Comer’s new look with a single word: “Wut.”

Joanne Carducci, a prominent liberal influencer and commentator, argued that it was more than just Comer’s hair color that had changed.

“OK, I have to ask what the f--- is going on with Comer’s hairline and his face?” Carducci asked her more than 1 million followers in a social media post on X. “Did he have like a f------ facelift or something?”

Comer’s Fox News appearance came days after he launched a House Oversight Committee probe into Democratic Senate candidate Mary Peltola’s campaign in Alaska. The investigation centers on allegations that Democratic operatives recruited a Senate candidate with the same name as Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK) to siphon votes from the incumbent.

Comer has requested transcribed interviews this week with Peltola’s former campaign manager, Elisa Rios, and Democratic operative Jerid Kurtz, and has threatened to subpoena them if they don’t appear.

“Knowing they can’t win on the issues, Democrats schemed to rig the U.S. Senate election in Alaska by deliberately confusing voters,” Comer said in a statement announcing the probe Thursday.
