Pence presidential launch mocked for suggesting drag queens are assaulting ‘American values’ – with no mention of Trump

Former Trump vice president Mike Pence on Wednesday officially launched his 2024 campaign for the White House, in a lengthy, polished video carefully constructed to position himself as the torch-bearer of American values, including Christian nationalism, while conveniently all but ignoring his four-plus years spent in service to Donald Trump, who recently was held liable by a jury for sexual abuse, is currently under a 34-count state felony indictment, and expected to soon be facing a slew of federal and state charges amid several other investigations.

"I believe in the American people, and I have faith God is not done with America yet," Pence tweeted atop his campaign video. "Together, we can bring this Country back, and the best days for the Greatest Nation on Earth are yet to come!"

Comer starts contempt of Congress proceedings against FBI director over Biden document

James Comer (R-KY) moved to hold FBI Director Christopher A. Wray in contempt of Congress Wednesday for not fully complying with a subpoena to produce a document that he says contains allegations from a confidential informant about President Joe Biden and his family, The Washington Post reported.

“To date, the FBI has refused to comply with our lawfully issued subpoena and even refused to admit the record’s existence up until a week ago,” Comer said in a statement Wednesday as he released the contempt resolution. “The FBI created this record based on information from a credible informant who has worked with the FBI for over a decade and paid six figures.”

'Blah blah blah blah blah': Sean Hannity whines charging Trump with 'obscure' obstruction is unfair

Fox News host Sean Hannity suggested on Tuesday's edition of his radio show that the possibility of former President Donald Trump getting charged with obstruction of justice is unfair because President Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton never had their homes "raided" by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

"So you know, and here's the other problem, you know, with top secret classified documents. So what they're doing here is they're not going to go after what they thought was the crime. Because they didn't raid Hillary Clinton's residences. They didn't raid Joe Biden's four places where he had top secret classified information. No," Hannity complained.

GOP push to hold FBI director in contempt over 'debunked' conspiracy theory makes no sense: lawmaker

Holding the FBI director in contempt in the investigation into Biden is nonsense, according to a Democratic representative.

House Republicans, led by Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY), are now threatening to hold FBI Director Christopher Wray — himself an appointee of former President Donald Trump — in contempt of Congress, over his move to limit public availability of a document they have claimed, without any public evidence, implicates President Joe Biden and his family in crimes from when he was serving as vice president.

Buttigieg: Republicans target LGBTQ people because they 'don’t want to talk about' their 'radical positions'

U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg blasted Republicans attacking the LGBTQ community on Tuesday, saying the reason right-wing lawmakers have decided to target them is they don’t want to talk about their “radical positions,” including opposing President Joe Biden’s massive infrastructure law and other accomplishments, like $35 insulin.

Appearing on MSNBC, Secretary Buttigieg was asked to weigh in on the Human Rights Campaign’s declaration earlier in the day, of a national emergency in the U.S. for LGBTQ people.

'He jerked them around': Barr smashes Trump’s DOJ 'witch hunt' excuse

Bill Barr, once Donald Trump‘s favorite attorney general and the one who was seen as his “faithful protector and personal henchman” for his “willingness to enable Trump’s darkest impulses,” came out swinging against his former boss Tuesday, refuting his “witch hunt” claims, and saying the ex-president “jerked” DOJ around over hundreds of classified and top secret documents he refused to return.

“I think if based on the facts, as the facts come out, I think over time, people will say that this is not a case of the Department of Justice, you know, conducting a ‘witch hunt,'” Barr told CBS News Tuesday, ahead of what many believe is an impending indictment on what experts say could include charges of obstruction of justice and charges under the Espionage Act.

Trump allies are 'chasing shadows' in Capitol riot footage – but not finding bombshells: analysis

Donald Trump's allies have been hunting for evidence to exonerate the former president and his supporters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, but one analyst said they've been "chasing shadows."

House speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) gave access to surveillance footage from the riot to two Trump-backing writers, Julie Kelly and John Solomon, after giving video to former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, but none of them have managed to produce a bombshell to "reshape the obvious reality of the day," wrote Washington Post columnist Philip Bump.

'Shocked and deeply offended': 9/11 families condemn PGA deal with Saudi-backed golf group

The men's PGA agreed to merge with the LIV Golf tour in a huge announcement Tuesday – much to the chagrin of families of 9/11 victims that have spoken out against the Saudi-backed LIV group for months.

A statement posted by Semafor reporter Max Tani revealed the group is "shocked and deeply offended" by the merger. They explained that the LIV Golf league is "bankrolled by billions of sports washing money from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Saudi operatives played a role in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and now it is bankrolling all of professional golf."
