According to MSNBC's Zeeshan Aleem, a handful of Donald Trump's biggest supporters in the House are grasping at the slimmest of excuses to deny or slow down assistance to Ukraine as the country attempts to stave off Russian President Vladimir Putin's unprovoked invasion.

During a recent floor vote in the House that was designed to allow President Joe Biden the ability to quickly lease military equipment to Ukraine as well as provide other forms of assistance, the ten lawmakers who voted "no," were all Republicans closely aligned with Trump who has had his own issues with providing support with Ukraine -- and led to his first impeachment.

In a late Friday filing, attorneys for John Eastman, who helped formulate a Donald Trump White House plan to overturn the 2020 presidential election, said their client has agreed to hand over approximately 10,000 Trump-related documents and emails to the House select committee investigating the Jan 6th insurrection.

According to Politico's Kyle Cheney, the committee has been attempting to get their hands on the documents which are part of approximately 37,000 pages of emails, with Eastman previously claiming attorney-client privilege.

US President Joe Biden and his Mexican counterpart Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador warned of "unprecedented" pressure from migration in a call Friday that highlighted a major political headache for the White House ahead of November elections.

"In view of the unprecedented flows of migrants from throughout the hemisphere to our two countries, the presidents reiterated the need to build stronger tools for managing regional migration surges," the White House said in a statement after the call between the two presidents.

Ukraine's second city Kharkiv was hit by more deadly shelling on Saturday while Ukrainian forces made some gains in the surrounding region as Washington slammed Russian President Vladimir Putin's "depravity".

Although Ukraine has retained control of Kharkiv, the city has been repeatedly battered by Moscow's forces and still faces daily attacks.

On Friday, in conversation with longtime Trump ally Roger Stone, Republican Ohio Senate candidate J.D. Vance offered up a new conspiracy theory: that President Joe Biden is deliberately letting fentanyl into the country to worsen the opioid epidemic and kill people in rural areas that support former President Donald Trump.

"If you wanted to kill a bunch of MAGA voters in the middle of the heartland, how better than to target them and their kids with this fentanyl," said Vance, a venture capitalist and the author of "Hillbilly Elegy." "And the crazy thing is, it's not just drug addicts who are affected by this, right? I mean of course most of our voters are not people who are suffering from this addiction, but they know a lot of people who are, right? Their kids are affected by it. A lot of grandparents, man, who are taking care of grandkids that they weren't expecting to take care of because fentanyl killed their children."

President Joe Biden reportedly is planning an aggressive midterm campaign that will label Republicans obstructionists to his efforts to move the country forward amid the apparently waning coronavirus pandemic while at the same time rallying for Democrats to help his party retain control of the U.S. House and Senate.

CNN reports that the president has complained in recent private conversations that he is frustrated with what he sees as journalists' lack of reporting about how Republicans have ditched any and all GOP principles solely with the intent of reclaiming the representative branch of government.

According to reports from the Daily Beast and the conservative Bulwark, extremists from both the far-right and the far-left are finding not only common ground in defending Russian President Vladimir Putin's unprovoked invasion of Ukraine but are also making a nice living pushing propaganda for the Russian strongman.

Kellyanne Conway, a former adviser to President Donald Trump, gave a speech Wednesday evening at UW-Whitewater, focusing on threats to conservative speech from progressives as she spoke in front of nearly 200 people.

Speaking for about an hour in the half-full Timmerman Auditorium — which seats about 400 — Conway railed against threats to free speech as she repeatedly told the audience they were on “the right side” of issues ranging from immigration to abortion access, critical race theory and charter schools, while dropping the names of the many famous conservative figures she knows, including Trump and former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker. Among the people in attendance was state Sen. Steve Nass (R-Whitewater).

According to a Politico report, there is grumbling and discord among members of the conservative Freedom Caucus that threatens to pull it apart with one former member saying it is devolving into an "extreme outrage machine" instead of attempting to influence policy and pass legislation.

Leading off with a squabble that broke out between Reps. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) at a get-together last month where the two had to be separated, Olivia Beavers is reporting that the Freedom Caucus, once dedicated to conservative causes, changed drastically under Donald Trump and now there are fears it may lose whatever influence it once had.

On Thursday, CBS 5 Phoenix reported that Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich, who is currently running for Senate as a Republican, has diverted money away from a fund intended to fight consumer fraud in order to litigate other, more political cases.

"In budget requests submitted by the Attorney General since 2018, the office has increasingly diverted money in the Consumer Protection and Fraud Revolving Fund to pay for other operations. Analysis of the operations shows they have little or no connection to protecting Arizona consumers," reported Morgan Loew.

Republican officeholders and candidates are baselessly claiming that undocumented immigrants are voting.

The false claims are impacting politics far away from the U.S.-Mexico border as part of Donald Trump's conspiratorial claims of election fraud, which is exceptionally rare, and whipping up hysteria that non-citizens are sneaking into the country and casting ballots, reported the New York Times.

Donald Trump denied that House minority leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) had called him on Jan. 6 to put a stop to the U.S. Capitol riot.

Republican lawmakers say McCarthy told them that he insisted the rioters were Trump supporters and demanded the former president call them off, and the California Republican claimed that Trump defended the insurrectionist mob.
