Fox News hosts expressed dismay Friday over the fact that Vice President Kamala Harris likes to cook — and their outrage sparked immediate mockery.
Host Julie Banderas complained about cooking videos Harris has starred in: "First of all, that's not doing women any favors,"
"Yes, it would be amazing to have a woman in the White House one day. That would be a huge glass ceiling shattered," Banderas added.
"But I don't want to hear about a White House, uh, president cooking," she said as her fellow hosts laughed. "And especially a woman! I don't cook! And I proudly wear that badge. I am not domesticated whatsoever."
As she spoke, photos of Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff smiling in the kitchen appeared on screen.
"Not only does Kamala Harris smile, laugh and hug people — but she cooks! Fox is appalled by such normal behavior," said Mark Jacob, a Chicago journalist whose bio includes The Chicago Sun-Times and the Chicago Tribune.
National security lawyer Bradley Moss mocked, "Nothing says 'out of touch' like media elites proudly stating they don’t cook while trashing Kamala Harris for liking to cook."
Inside Elections reporter Jacob Rubashki uncovered one video showing Harris' ability to do a one-handed egg crack.
"Old enough to remember the rightwing freakout when Hillary Clinton said she didn't 'stay home and bake cookies,'" X influencer Michael Ian Black posted to his 1.7 million followers.
"Anyway, here is Eisenhower’s personal collection of recipes," said communications director James Karst of the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana, with a link.
