'My God': Karoline Leavitt shamed after major math goof blows up 'lunatic' attack

Former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt took to Fox News Monday night to accuse Democratic candidates of flip-flopping on their policy positions, but critics quickly noted that her questionable math appeared to undercut her own argument.

“The Democrats are always incredibly disingenuous,” Leavitt said while appearing on Hannity. “They campaign as moderates, they do 360s on every single policy position they have to try to appeal to common sense, good-hearted Americans, but then, when they are elected, they govern as complete radical extreme liberal lunatics.”

As noted by countless critics, Leavitt’s accusation that Democratic candidates “do 360s” on their policy positions was a mathematical misfire, as to do a 360 would mean ending up where one started. The phrase Leavitt was likely reaching for, critics said, was “doing a 180,” which means to reverse one’s position.

“Former math teacher here. Oh my god,” wrote Hemant Mehta, a podcast host, author and television personality, in a social media post on X.

Progressive political commentator Alex Cole, founder of the independent progressive news and analysis website acnewsitics, called Leavitt a “damn idiot,” and reminded Leavitt that “a 360 brings you back to the same position.”

“This unintentional self-own kills me!” wrote South Dakota attorney and public prosecutor Craig Evenson.

And Czech journalist Vojtěch Gibiš sarcastically quipped that Leavitt’s jab at Democratic candidates exposed her “mathematical talent.”

“The USA had already laughed at her statements about reducing drug prices by ‘200 or 300%’ or her claim that she spends ‘95% of her time working, which gives her only 25% of time for childcare’ and now she claims about Democrats that after being elected they do a 360-degree [pivot],” Gibiš wrote in a social media post on X, according to an automatic translation from X’s Grok chatbot.
