Katie Miller labeled 'weirdo' as early election theft conspiracy theory crashes and burns

An attempt by conservative Katie Miller to ramp up midterm election day conspiracy theories met a cruel fate early Tuesday morning.

The podcaster who is married to White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller was quick to pounce on a post on X about voting machine issues in Westchester County, New York, which she blamed on “the left.”

Miller reposted X user Ben Hort who complained, “I just went to vote in Westchester & machines are apparently broken county wide. They said choice is vote absentee or come back later. This is going to be crazy. Our country is in trouble.”

According to Miller, “This is how the Left steals elections. Mike Lawler’s competitive district and they are turning away voters.”

Semafor founder Ben Smith was one of the first to quickly point out that the district “the left” was trying to steal is “the Democratic part of the district.”

After News 12’s Tara Rosenblum reported, “Westchester County election officials have confirmed the cause of widespread voting machine problems across the county this morning: paper ballots are too thick for the machines to accept."

Semafor's Smith added, “Right - Westchester is the diverse/inner suburb/blue part of this Hudson Valley district that extends north and west.@lawler4ny being normal/non-conspiratorial and encouraging everyone to stay and vote in the more Democratic part of the district is I think confusing people on this platform. Also I think New York people are less surprised by insane incompetence in you-had-one-job country election boards.”

Joining the pile-on over Miller’s conspiracy-mongering, Talking Points Memo founder Josh Marshall quipped, “Exactly. This is a super weird way for the Ds to rig this one.”

“Ah yes. Textbook election-rigging by Dems, suppressing the vote in a county Kamala Harris carried by 26 pts,” The Atlantic’s Tim Alberta joked.

Linking to an announcement from the Westchester County Board of Elections that encouraged voters “to stay in line,” because they have a handle on the problem, liberal influencer WuTang is for the Children, wrote, “No one is turning away Westchester county voters you weirdo….they’re telling people to stay in line!”
