Former White House press secretary Katie Zacharia tried to get in on the Halloween fun by offering a how-to for anyone dressing up as her. Not everyone on the right was laughing.
“Fit Check for Halloween Fans,” Zacharia wrote on X on Friday. “Veronica Beard Blazer and Skirt: Size 00, even after four kids. Christian Louboutin Miss Z in lamb nappa leather, 100 mm stiletto (sold out). Blouse: Nordstrom (sold out). Good luck!”
The post came with graphics of a navy double-breasted blazer, a pencil skirt and red-soled heels. One read, “No hair extensions.”
Cat Parks, a former vice chair of the Texas Republican Party, wasn’t amused.
“What is wrong with you? There is nothing relatable in this to the average woman,” Parks wrote. “We were gracious in spite of your ineptitude. Go away.”
Freelance religion and culture writer Maggie Phillips quoted Zacharia’s size claim and added, “Ok, honey!”
Others thought it showed a sense of humor. Will Steakin, co-author of Politico Playbook, called her a “good sport.” Anna Johnson, a state communications director, wrote, “I love that she can laugh at herself. Bravo.”
Charles T. Moran, a Trump appointee at the National Nuclear Security Administration, joked, “I can only imagine what the gays in DC and LA are gonna try tomorrow… but the real @KatieZacharia is incomparable!”
Cara Castronuova, a Trump ally, chimed in that she owns “the same exact blazer,” but was going as an aviator instead.
Zacharia’s tenure at the White House podium was brief. She recently clashed with Piers Morgan in an interview that The Hill said turned contentious, with Morgan telling her, “You sound like a robot.”
