'Unconscionable': MTG bought 'unusually large volume of stock' just before market rally

U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) admitted on Monday that she purchased between $21,000 and $315,000 in stocks on April 8 and 9, in line with the day President Trump sent stocks soaring by pausing his sweeping tariffs. Numbers show she also dumped between $50,000 and $100,0000 in Treasury bills on the day the bond market selloff badly rattled investors.

The NY Times reports Trump wrote, “THIS IS A GREAT TIME TO BUY!!!” on social media the morning of April 9. Roughly four hours later, the president made his own statement true by voluntarily pausing the worst of his tariffs dogging the US and world market for nearly two weeks, and the publication noted that Greene bought what it characterized as an "unusually large volume of stock" in companies impacted by tariffs.

MTG bought cratering stocks amid market nosedive — and 'her bets are working out': report

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) loaded up on stocks in the middle of the market's freefall due to President Donald Trump's imposition of draconian tariffs around the world, CBS News reported on Thursday.

"The Georgia Republican, an avid supporter of the Trump administration's trade policies, not only bought stocks last week as others dumped them in a panic — she scooped up some of the biggest losers," said the report. "Lululemon, Dell Computer, Amazon, the parent of Restoration Hardware and a few others hit hard by President Trump's tariff threats were down 40% on average late last week when she pounced. Data from a required three-page financial holdings document doesn't disclose exactly how much she paid for the stocks, only ranges and dates."

'Gulf of Ignorance': Bombardment of wisecracks derails MTG law hearing

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), after months of irritation that other countries won't follow President Donald Trump's order to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the "Gulf of America," has introduced congressional legislation that would formalize the change and require other countries use the name as well.

But at a House Natural Resources Committee hearing marking up her bill, Democrats ridiculed the situation by forcing votes on amendment after amendment on a raft of possible odd names for the gulf, Politico reported on Wednesday.

Biden skipped critical meeting at 'life or death' moment for his campaign: new book

Former president Joe Biden bailed on a meeting with progressive lawmakers at a critical moment in his doomed re-election campaign, according to a new book.

The octogenarian alarmed supporters with his halting performance in the June 27 debate against Donald Trump, and longtime adviser Ron Klain told him the next day that he needed to shore up support from the congressional progressive caucus at a White House meeting – but Biden said he had a photoshoot scheduled with Annie Leibovitz, according to excerpts from a new book published by The Guardian.

'No life wisdom': Divorced Marjorie Taylor Greene attacks AOC for not being married

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) took potshots at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on "The Eric Bolling Show" this week, The Daily Beast reported — saying, among other things, that because she was unmarried, she lacked any real understanding of how the world works.

“This is a woman, she’s never been married, she has no children, she’s never had a job other than working in a bar,” said Greene, swatting aside growing speculation that Ocasio-Cortez could run for president in the future. “This is a woman that has really no life experience and has no life wisdom because she’s never done any of those things.”

'Sad!' MTG reamed for saying federal workers in her district don't hold 'real jobs'

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) proclaimed during a hearing on Tuesday that federal government workers do not hold "real jobs," while disparaging the surging protests against tech billionaire Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency task force as it purges tens of thousands of people from the civil service.

"You can protest all you want outside of departments of this government, you can protest all you want, but the American people disagree with you," said Greene. "You're protecting the bureaucracy. The bureaucracy is not a business. Those are not real jobs producing federal revenue, by the way. They're consuming taxpayer dollars. Those jobs are paid for by the American tax people, who work real jobs, earn real income, pay federal taxes, and then pay these federal employees. Federal employees do not deserve their jobs. Federal employees do not deserve their paychecks. And these are jobs that can be fired at will."

'Change their tone': MTG scolds taunting Dems

Firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), chairwoman of the DOGE oversight subcommittee, did not appreciate the "tone" of some House Democrats who taunted President Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and the chairwoman herself at Wednesday's meeting.

Greene scolded them for their antics on social media, writing, "Unfortunately, some of the Democrats in today’s @DOGECommittee ignored waste, fraud, and abuse. Instead, they used their five minutes to attack President Trump, attack Elon Musk, and attack me. If they don’t change their tone, they are going to stay on the losing side of this issue."
