Shockwaves as early midterm results point to 'blue tsunami': 'Oh my days'

Political analysts lit up social media Tuesday night as early results of the midterm elections rolled in.

Democrats entered Election Day with an advantage in key races, according to public polling, and early results bore that out. Democrat Roy Cooper flipped the North Carolina Senate seat held by retiring Sen. Thom Tillis, and former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms won Georgia’s governor’s race, NBC News and Decision Desk HQ projected.

Zachary Donnini, head of data science at VoteHub, said the early results pointed to a “blue tsunami.”

“As of right now it looks like we are in blue tsunami zone,” he posted on X.

Political commentator Kyle Kulinski, host of “The Kyle Kulinski Show” on YouTube, reacted with disbelief, posting “Oh my days” alongside early returns showing Democrat James Talarico leading Republican Ken Paxton in Texas’ Senate race.

Adam Carlson, founder of Zenith Polls, described the early results in a [post](INSERT X LINK) on X as “f------ glorious.”

Robby Soave, a media critic at Reason, said the warning signs had been there all along.

“If only Republicans had been warned ahead of time, or had some reason to suspect, that launching an unpopular war in the Middle East would produce a backlash that saw Democrats retake Congress...” Soave posted on X.
