GOP lawmakers blast Mike Johnson over new 'delay game' because he doesn't 'have the votes'

GOP lawmakers have slammed Speaker of the House Mike Johnson for delaying a funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security.

The prolonged closure has left employees at the Transportation Security Administration and other DHS agencies without regular pay, creating significant operational challenges across the department. The core dispute centers on funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol operations.

Trump's newest revenge probe has 'one faulty premise' that could undo case: expert

A criminal probe launched by the Department of Justice into the Southern Poverty Law Center could be undone by one detail, a former federal prosecutor has claimed.

Joyce Vance, who served as the United States attorney for the Northern District of Alabama from 2009 to 2017, believes the DOJ will have a hard time convincing people its investigation is just. The DoJ indicted the Southern Poverty Law Center on criminal fraud charges, alleging the civil rights organization misled donors about how contributions would be used.

Appearing on News Nation with Chris Cuomo in a video published early Thursday morning, Luna dismissed the idea of Maxwell ever receiving a pardon, responding to reports that several members of the House Oversight Committee were considering pushing for Maxwell to receive a pardon in exchange for testifying before Congress.

According to Axios founder Jim VandeHei, there is a pervasive sense of doom in Donald Trump’s White House, and his unrestrained actions continue to crater not only his popularity, but that of the Republican Party.

Trump hemorrhaging support from crucial voting bloc as campaign promises meet reality

A new poll reveals that President Donald Trump is experiencing a dramatic erosion of Latino support at rates that far exceed his overall declining favorability, posing a significant threat to Republican midterm prospects.

The March poll commissioned by Third Way and UnidosUS found Trump's overall favorability rating at 44 percent favorable to 55 percent unfavorable, but among Latino voters the gap widened dramatically to just 34 percent favorable and 66 percent unfavorable — which suggests Trump is hemorrhaging support among a crucial voting bloc that helped power his 2024 election victory, reported MS NOW.

Trump's 'fragility on display' in Oval Office meltdown leads to ridicule on MS NOW

During a Thursday Oval Office press availability, Donald Trump took time out to complain about still not getting credit for turnout at his first inauguration, and then snapped at multiple reporters who questioned him on the stalled Iran war negotiations.

On MS NOW, “Way Too Early” fill-in host Sam Stein shared a clip of the president rambling about the National Mall reflecting pool that he is having cleaned up, before taking time out to whine that his inauguration crowd was listed at 25,000 instead of the million he continues to claim showed up despite all evidence to the contrary.

Trump's clash with Pope has 'very disturbing' consequences for GOP: report

President Donald Trump's public spat with Pope Leo XIV has cut the Republican Party at the worst possible time, a report has claimed.

Trump's administration has engaged in direct conflict with Pope Leo XIV, the first American pontiff, over theology, foreign policy, and Christian values. The tension escalated when Vice President JD Vance publicly criticized the pope's understanding of Catholic doctrine during a Turning Point conference, stating, "I think it's very, very important for the pope to be careful when he talks about matters of theology."

Plan hatches to impeach Trump on 'day 1' if Dems take House control in November: Axios

A group of House Democrats is preparing to pursue impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump beginning Jan. 1 if they regain a House majority in the midterm elections, Axios reported Thursday.

Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ), one of the House Democrats actively working to lay the groundwork for a “day 1” impeachment, told Axios that if Democrats manage to reclaim control of the House in November – which recent polls suggest is more likely than not – the “push for impeachment is going to be overwhelming” among her colleagues.

Republicans rejecting Trump's hand-picked candidate for House seat: 'He got it wrong'

The fight for the House seat previously held by Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) has become a battle of wills with Donald Trump after he endorsed a political neophyte to be the candidate in defiance of the state party.

According to a report from Politico’s Nick Reisman and Bill Mahoney, Trump wants to fill the seat with another MAGA loyalist after Stefanik announced she would step aside for an ill-fated run for governor that went nowhere, in large part due to her loyalty to the president.

The report notes that the president tapped businessperson Anthony Constantino, the CEO of merchandising company Sticker Mule, who is waging an insurgent bid against Republican Assemblymember Robert Smullen — the establishment favorite — and Republicans are "refusing to fall in line" behind the president's wishes.

New York Conservative Party Chair Jerry Kassar made the breach explicit: "We're big supporters of the president. We just simply feel that on this one he got it wrong."

The split is becoming increasingly personal and legal, Politico is reporting. Kassar is suing Constantino for defamation after the candidate alleged the party leader threatened to kill him and attempted to murder a press aide — allegations that have intensified the already bitter primary fight.

Constantino, meanwhile, is leaning heavily on celebrity MAGA gadflies like Roger Stone and disgraced NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani — both of whom Trump specifically named in his Truth Social endorsement announcement.

Trump sought to achieve regime change in Iran and potentially control the country's uranium resources when his administration first launched strikes.

GOP insider warns DeSantis over gerrymander plan backfire: 'We could wind up losing seats'

Gov. Ron DeSantis is employing a three-pronged legal strategy to evade Florida's constitutional ban on partisan gerrymandering, quietly orchestrating a special legislative session to approve new congressional maps designed to create more GOP-friendly districts ahead of November midterm elections.

DeSantis rejected open-process redistricting during the regular January legislative session, instead directing his office to secretly draft new maps in preparation for a Tuesday special session, reported Axios. The strategy relies on three legal mechanisms to delay court challenges and prevent judicial intervention.
