President Donald Trump's obsession with the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool sparked internal conflict between U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum.

On MS NOW's “Morning Joe,” host Jonathan Lemire called the dispute "embarrassing," especially for the president.

After Pirro dropped her vandalism case against Olympic canoeist David Hearn and blamed the Interior Department's flawed contractor work, Trump accused her of "folding" during an Oval Office rant.

Lemire compared Trump's response to his first-term hurricane-Alabama incident, when Trump used a Sharpie to alter a weather map rather than admit error, then pressured government agencies to justify his mistake.

"This is also that he's flat out embarrassed,” Lemire accused.

“He cared about this Reflecting Pool; he wanted it done for July 4th. He picked the contractor. It didn't happen. And now he's trying to lash out because he, of course, can't admit a mistake.”
