'Never going to be made whole': Expert says Giuliani can't pay defamed poll workers

Atlanta poll workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss will likely recover some of the damages they are owed by Donald Trump ally Rudy Giuliani for falsely smearing them as trying to rig the 2020 election — but not even close to what he owes, former federal prosecutor Elie Honig told CNN's Jake Tapper on Monday.

"The Court should grant the Motion for Civil Contempt as conceded, should enter an order that Mr. Giuliani is in civil contempt, and the December 12, 2024 hearing should be narrowed to focus on the appropriate civil contempt sanction for Mr. Giuliani’s violation of the consent injunction."
